About Ray

I retired from engineering in the late 90’s so that I could spend my time teaching some of the skills that I used in business. I enjoy the academic disciplines of mathematics, statistics, physics and circuit analysis. They are well defined and once you learn the rules you can solve the problems. After you have done many of these problems you will begin to categorize them into classes.
I had been employed at the college level for ten years, full time, and eleven years, part time, for a total of 21 years. I have worked at St Pete College, the University of South Florida, Illinois Central College, Clinton Community College, and Wichita Area Technical College.

One of the first things that I will do is to review the student’s current standing in the subject. I will review with the student previous graded papers. Having done that, a curriculum is then developed from that information. This will be a plan that will coach the student to greater success through multiple rounds of problem solving and personal feedback, building their confidence and proficiency. When tutoring I like to ask the student questions in order to determine the area that the student does not understand. In addition, I tailor my expiation in a way that the student can understand.
