In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been an English teacher/tutor for 12 years, helping students of all grade levels achieve their English learning goals. With a Master's degree in English Education, I understand how to design and implement a learning plan to help students who are having difficulty with all aspects of English to become better readers and writers. One of the most difficult concepts to understand is English grammar. I know grammar can be quite confusing for many students; therefore, I am patient and adept at making difficult concepts appear easy by using proven methods that I have used for over ten years! I look forward to helping you relieve the anxiety that comes from learning necessary English reading and writing skills.
I have taught ESL/ESOL to all grade levels as a tutor in South America, and I have also tutored and taught ESL/ESOL for the following schools:
Spartanburg Alternative School, Spartanburg, SC

My experience as a tutor includes helping students of the following native languages to gain a better understanding of English fundamentals and advanced writing and reading skills:
Spanish, Chinese, Russian, German, Urdu, Arabic, French,Vietnamese, Korean, and Portugese.
At Hillsborough Community College, I taught a Developmental English course, which consisted mostly of non-native English speakers, and 100 % of the students passed the Florida State Writing Exam.
I look forward to helping your ESL student achieve his/her proficiency of the English language.
