I have over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring math, the SAT, and the ACT. My teaching experience includes undergraduate calculus enrichment courses at Northwestern University and foundational math at East-West University in Chicago. After serving two years as clinical faculty in Loyola University Chicago’s School of Education, I left to focus on educational consulting and math tutoring.

At Academic Approach in Chicago, I was a lead math tutor and tutor-trainer.

I am not just a content expert, but give my students the specialized knowledge I learned as a senior standardized test designer for Educational Testing Services/Questar Assessment. I've authored test prep guides for the ACT that have been implemented in Teach For America and the Chicago School District. I've worked on numerous books and educational products, but still firmly believe that student success comes not just from these tools but from expert, compassionate tutoring.

I see parents and students struggle to efficiently build subject content, testing skills, and student confidence. I help bridge that gap between instruction, assessment, and individual students’ learning styles. I will teach you key approaches that get you further, faster. Most importantly, I will help you build build a toolboox of techniques to use for the rest of your academic career.

I look forward to working with you on your high-school or college math courses or on preparation for the ACT or SAT.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

Linear algebra is often included as either a stand-alone course or as part of an economics course. In economics courses or applied math, linear algebra courses generally focus on matrix construction and vector operations to solve linear systems of equations. This has a wide variety of applications in optimization problems (linear programming) and solving certain differential equations. Foundational linear algebra courses focus on vector spaces and properties of matrices, looking not just at solving systems of linear equations through row reduction but other ways to transform matrices. From my undergraduate major in pure math, I am able tutor linear algebra courses offered by a math department. Through my graduate work in applied math, I am able to tutor applications of linear algebra concepts found in economics, statistics, or other applied math fields. I have experience tutoring linear algebra as it contributes to topics covered in economics courses as well as vector calculus courses.
