Dear Prospective Students,

Welcome to my tutor profile! My name is Hannah. I am a graduate of Manhattan College and have years of experience in tutoring students at the elementary school level. I have tutored students in a wide range of subjects, including math, reading, spelling, literature, and science. I love working with younger kids but have experience with middle school aged teens as well.

In terms of teaching methods and style, each tutor has their own unique approach to establishing a productive and cooperative relationship with their student, to best assist them in their academic work, identify their short comings or weakness, and guide them toward improvement. Along with standard teaching practices, I believe strongly in communication and allowing the student to show me how she/he best interacts with the material and what type of learning areas to work on which require special attention, all while encouraging the student to be patient, to understand that each individual has strengths and weaknesses in academics and to believe in his or her own ability to help themselves. The goal is to build the confidence and self-esteem that will allow this child to tackle new subject matter and previously struggled with material, without the intimidation that they may have once experienced. I think it is important to make learning custom to the child I am working with and also make the learning experiences interesting, fun and ensure that the student relates to the material. Relating to the material to the student is key in order to peak their interest and keep them motivated. We will work together at a pace that the student is comfortable with and that ensures the most effective learning environment.

I have had experience in both mentoring and tutoring elementary school aged children since I was a junior in high school. I find that working in a conducive environment is best for the child and makes the learning process better. It is important to me that I assist in guiding my students to perform at their ful

Wonderful teacher!

Very kind and patient tutor. My son loved her insight. He gleaned from the very first lesson. He was nervous at first but she put him at ease right away. Highly recommend her. We will defiantly see her in the future.

Great first impression

Today was our first meeting with Hannah. She was punctual and personable. She seemed to relate well to my daughter who is slow to warm up. I think she will be a great fit for our middle schooler!

Excellent!

Hannah has been working with my 4th grader on math and in just one month we have seen tremendous improvement and even a 99 on her progress report from school:)

Wonderful teacher

Hannah was able to keep the interest of my second grade son that hates reading. I am looking forward to seeing how much he can improve in reading.
