My name is Tom and I have five years of tutoring experience. I have tutored the PSAT and SAT exams for five years. I taught high school physics, physical science, first-year algebra, and middle school math and science. I also developed a class called "Physics Without Math" for students not pursuing a typical 4 year college could still learn the basics of how and why things behave the way they do.
After retiring from full time teaching for 21 years, I began tutoring and really enjoyed it - especially the one on one relationship between teacher and student. So if you have a need for any of my educational skills, call or e-mail me and let's get together for a free 1/2 hour introduction and see if I meet your needs. Let's make sure the SAT or any of my other teaching areas make your education easier and more pleasant.
Hope to hear from you.

Thomas is understanding and patient with our son. He understands how kids can take on too much and he understands the results of overload. He understands the subject material and concerns himself with getting the student to understand.
How to get prepared for the act. Ways to keep calm during the test. Simple mistake errors. How to chose the best answer.
Tom has been prepping my son for the SAT. He is very patient, he takes the extra effort to identify deficiencies, then addresses them with a very methodical process.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
