St. Petersburg College (Other)
Hello! I'm an up and coming English major. I've attended St. Petersburg College at both the Clearwater and Tarpon Springs campuses. I've been an English tutor at the Tarpon Springs campus for about a year. I'd like to say I've been taught by the best so far, so I look forward to exceeding your expectations.
I like to think outside the box. I'm very good at explaining complicated rules and practices with everyday day analogies and metaphors. I love being able to put things in a way that can help a frustrated student to see how the English language works in an easy to understand manner. My goal is to reduce your stress and help you take on classwork with a worry free, relaxed approach.
I have extensive experience with the English language in general. I am well versed in grammar, reading, and vocabulary not just from classes, but from off time reading of novels, social media, etc. My lexicon (mental dictionary) grows with every new word that I gain familiarity with. If I come across an unknown word or phrase while reading, I take it in context; or, if too obscure, by looking it up.
I'm already ready to help. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and ask. Your success is literally my only goal. I help you succeed, and it's a win/win situation. It's that simple. Hello! I'm an up and coming English major. I've attended St. Petersburg College at both the Clearwater and Tarpon Springs campuses. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
