I’m passionate about the law and passionate about teaching it to others. After graduating with Honors from the University of Chicago Law School, I joined a large national firm where I practiced for several years as a commercial litigator, later transitioning to a boutique firm specializing in high stakes commercial and real property cases. I have extensive trial experience and have also briefed and argued several high profile appeals. My legal experience is not limited to big law. I have also clerked at an appellate court, which has given me the opportunity to see the law and legal writing from the perspective of the judiciary.
I specialize in teaching civil procedure, contracts, torts, property law, and legal writing, and have extensive experience tutoring others in the law both in individual and group settings. (I received the top grade in my civil procedure class.) Not only do I thoroughly understand the black letter law in these areas, but I can help it come to life for you because of my real world experience as a practicing lawyer.
I know how to take complicated concepts and explain them in simple terms. I’m a good listener who has not forgotten what it was like to be in your shoes. I am patient and I understand how hard it can be that first time you encounter difficult legal concepts. If you give me the opportunity, I can help you identify your strengths and weaknesses in a subject area and craft a study program that works for you.
I can also help you vastly improve your legal writing and analysis. I was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review. My experience as a judicial clerk—together with years of private practice—means that I know what works (and doesn’t work) in legal writing. I can help your legal writing shine.
