I am recently retired from the Broward County School System. I have a Florida teaching certificate valid through June 2020. I am certified in math 6-12, ESOL and Psychology. I have 39 years of experience mostly at the high school and college level. My areas of expertise are in Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, College Readiness and Trigonometry at the high school level. At the college level I am qualified to tutor developmental algebra, intermediate and college algebra.
For the past 20 years I have taught at the high school level, taught 2 nights a week and Saturdays at Broward College and tutored individually and for a reading clinic in Coral Springs, Florida. As I am retired from Broward County School system I still desire to work with individuals so they can be successful in their education. Frequently students have difficulties in math. If approached correctly so that the student's learning style is examined, most individuals can be successful in math and feel positive about their accomplishments. Math is required for most all majors in college as well as four years is needed at the high school level. It is my goal to facilitate student's to perform well in the various mathematical fields and achieve success for their desired goals. I am recently retired from the Broward County School System. My daughters grades have greatly improved from working with Patty!! We are already planning on using her next year for Geometry!!! She is very patient with my daughter.
She is very patient. She seems to have an excellent knowledge of Subject (Geometry) It seems my grand daughter will be able to upgrade her grade and understanding of the subject. I like this tutor so does my grand daughter.
I could tell within the first 5 minutes that Patti knew her stuff, and has been such a wonderful help for our daughter. I now have confidence that Shelby will be a success in algebra 1, and other classes that follow. The stress of this course has lifted for Shelby, and that gives her the confidence that she needs to learn. I am very grateful.
Patty is outstanding. My son learned more in 1 hour than he did all year with his last math teacher.
We are thankful for her patience and great teaching skill. We will continue to use Patty after my son passes his Algebra 1 EOC.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
