I am a retired professor at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. I taught Applied Human Anatomy at various graduate levels for over 40 years and Biomechanics for over 30 years. I developed resident and online courses in Anatomy and Biomechanics and also taught Neuroanatomy, Histology, and Embryology in first professional programs. I received my B.S. in Physical Therapy from SUNY at Buffalo in 1971 and my Ph.D. in Anatomical Sciences from the College of Medicine there in 1976.
I then went to the University of Michigan as a National Institute of Health Postdoctoral Fellow to study biomechanics. In 1981, I taught Gross Anatomy, Histology and Embryology to first year medical students at Florida State University (FSU) in the Program in Medical Sciences (now FSU School of Medicine). While at FSU, I received the Program in Medical Science Winzler Teaching Award four times. In 1991, I joined the faculty at Florida A & M University, Division of Physical Therapy, where I taught Anatomy, Biomechanics, General Pathology and Research. In 1994, I helped start the Masters of Physical Therapy Program in St Augustine Fl. which then expanded to the University of St Augustine in 2000. The University now has 5 campuses and diverse resident and online Programs.
From 2000 to 2008, I was the Director of the Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program in St Augustine and the Director of the Institute of Physical Therapy. I developed a pre-anatomy online course and online courses in Applied Anatomy and Biomechanics for Health Sciences. I authored texts used at the University of St Augustine in the Applied Human Anatomy course (over 700 pages) and the Biomechanics course (over 600 pages). I has also authored 5 online Human Anatomy Synopsis Books for 5 regions of the body and online Study Guides I & II in Biomecahnics of Health Sciences. These books are averaging 1200 - 1500 downloads per month. I also produced HD Dissections Videos of the Human Body, several HD Anatomy Video Webinars, and 20 anatomy videos on YouTube.
Excellent and prepared
Dr. G was phenomenal to work with. He brings a wealth of experience, insight and enthusiasm. We went over in detail biomechanical questions regarding the squat movement and I think I learned more in that hour than in 20+ years of being in the fitness industry. I'd highly recommend him!Adam, 2 lessons with Gerard

Professor Gerard was extremely helpful with my homework assignment for Biomechanics. I learned more in our one-hour tutoring session than I did in my class so far. He went into detail and made sure I was understanding each step. He was also able to answer so many of my questions and really put my assignment into real-life perspective. I will definitely be using his tutoring throughout the semester.Javairia, 5 lessons with Gerard

Super informative, prepared and patient.
Gerard really helped walk me through my review and HOW to study for my exam. Anatomy is a tough class but he brought a whole new perspective, ways to remember things, graphs and pictures which really helped me. Great tutor !Lydia, 4 lessons with Gerard
