About Julien

I am currently a student at Embry-Riddle working towards a degree in Aerospace engineering with my first year completed. I am currently taking one class as a part of my Summer B course load and have extensive amounts of time available for instruction. I finished 4th in my high school and scored a 1900 on my SAT and a 26 on my ACT. I have completed courses in mathematics equivalent to Calculus 2. I have unofficially tutored at my high school in the past for Mathematics, Sciences ranging from Biology to Physics, and History classes.

The reason I want to tutor is because it is a way to both improve someone else's knowledge as well as my own. I understand that students are a reflection of the instructor and enjoy seeing my labor help others succeed. I have always been one to jump in and help whether it was on a field or in a class room. Many of my teachers relied on me to help students who were falling behind in the class. On many occasions I found myself in the back of a classroom with a student while lectures were taking place at the front. They would ask me to explain anything that the student didn't comprehend as well as ask the student questions to ensure their understanding.

My math education has included courses up to Calculus 2 as a student. Algebra is an integral part of the math I currently do for my degree is almost second nature to me now. This allows me to teach Algebra very well because I have patterns and tricks that I have used to remember rules for years now. As well as the basic understanding needed to rebuild a curriculum for a students learning process.

I have always been good at sciences because I find them very interesting. A special skill I have when it comes to subjects like Biology and Chemistry is that I excel at relating the material to the student. I also have a solid grasp on most of the concepts presented in grade level biology.

In high school I completed all of the history classes that were provided, to include the college level courses my school had to offer. When taking the national AP exams I scored high marks on my U.S. History exam as well as my American Government and Politics exam. I consider myself somewhat of a history nerd and enjoy discussing wars and the impact they have had on American society. Large shifts in American culture such as Black Tuesday and the ensuing Dirty Thirty's.

On Monday through Thursday I am available anytime after 3:30pm for tutoring in any of the above subjects. If your student needs more subjects than what I have listed feel free to ask. My education focused heavily on Science, Math, and Engineering so I have a wide pool of experience. I also excel at most History topics and the method that many teachers require for analytical essays that are becoming more frequently required in today's school system.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
