University of Phoenix (BS in Education)
Grand Canyon University (Enrolled)
I enjoy singing and cooking healthy wholesome food for my family and friends. Graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Education and presently pursuing my Master's degree in TESOL. Yes, I have a passion for teaching! For example, I will never forget one day at the end of the school year, I saw a student crying hysterically by the classroom door. With tears all over his report card, I scurried over to his side as he muttered these words through the tears, "Thank you Ms.C!" Still grasping for air, he could hardly breathe as he whispered. " I didn't know I would be promoted to Fifth grade but you always, always encourage me and never give up on me. Thank you!" As educators, it is very important to know your students and encourage them every day to do their best. One may ask, "What do I love about tutoring?" Two words...SUCCESS STORIES! I am an educator who just loves success stories. Reasons, I plan interacting lessons that students can relate to and that every child can learn.
Based on my last observation status, I am an effective instructional educator in the State of Florida. I am certified to teach Elementary K-6. Plus, I taught fourth grade ESOL class for four years . During that time, my students earned 3.5-5.5 scores in Writing. Math and Reading scores skyrocketed from level 1 to levels 3 through level 5. In 2013, I earned $2,500 Tangible Award and a Recognition Letter from the School Board of Broward County. For the 2014-2015 school year, I taught Math. Some of my students ranked 96% -98 percentile on the scale. The report showed 90% of my students increased in gains. Presently, I am current and up-to-date with the Florida State Assessment curriculum and specifications. I attended workshops and completed courses in Elementary math for math notebooks, math centers, and differentiated instructions.
If you are interested in a tutor with excellent experience in teaching K-6 Math and Reading, then you are at the right place. My goal is to ignite sparks of motivation in my students and to raise the achievement of my students beyond their widest expectations with challenging, interacting strategies, and rewarding lessons that encourages intellectual risk-taking and critical thinking.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
