I love that Herb takes time to assess and tailor his approach. Our son is 17, and respects his tutor, and looking forward to working with him more. We just started with Herb, but in the few sessions, we can tell he is serious about helping our son achieve his goal. Thanks, Herb!!

Herb has helped bring my daughter's Algebra 2 grade up tremendously. She enjoys working with him. He explains problems in a clear understandable way. Herb is very patient.

Herb tutored my son last year as a high school junior, and again this year prepping for the ACT and SAT. My son liked Herb and was engaged in the process. Last year we saw a marked grade increase and believe he's helped my son's test scores.

Mr. Herb F. is a very fine tutor. Thank you very much for making it possible for us to connect with him.

Herb has been immensely helpful to my client and have only heard rave reviews from their sessions. Herb is patient and kind, coming across to the student with an authentic caring nature. His honest suggestions for an increase in time of the sessions has helped the student get a better grasp on the materials.

We went over the fundamentals of algebra to start. From exponents to scientific notation. I liked that Herb was able to break down examples In a way to help me get a better understanding.

Herb has been tutoring me for my math course. I am the worst at math and he really taught me a lot. I have more confidence now that I can learn math. He is very professional and friendly. Most importantly to me is that he is patient. We have got 100's on every homework assignment and tests. I definitely would recommend Herb.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT preparation is best approached by practice. My students take practice exams and I review the areas of weakness whether they related to Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, or other foundation material. I also discuss test taking strategy to include careful reading of the test question, recording important information, process of elimination for multiple choices, and expected areas of knowledge.

I have a Master's degree in Math Teaching. I have taught and tutored math ranging from basic skills to Calculus.
