Hi, I am professional at many different things. First I am a professional musician. I am fully certified to teach music by the State of Florida in grades K-12. I have taught the piano for more than 15 years and have been playing since I was 4 years old. I am also a local music teacher at a public school under the wings of the Broward County music board. I have taught many students of many ages including Adults. I love classical and gospel music.
I am also a business man. I love math and I am a computer geek. I have an undergraduate degree from the Florida State University in Criminology/Criminal Justice with a minor in Music and Religion. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Masters in Business Administration from the American InterContinental University. I have my own business teaching piano lessons in peoples' homes. In the past I have helped people write business plans, resumes, make PowerPoint presentations, and do research.
I have an Masters in Business Administration and have been in computers all my life. My father was a computer system analysis, so I know a lot. I know MS office (Word, Excell, Publisher, Power Point and internet). I work various programs at work as a teacher and I worked with them as a student.
In general music the students learn fundamentals skills of music to include vocal and ear training, music reading, instrument playing, movement and rhythm exercises, as well as experiencing music from other cultures. All of these promote development of music appreciation, group interaction, and build self-esteem. There six skill areas the make up the curriculum for general music: singing, movement and rhythm, listening, music reading, improvisation, and playing instruments.
I have a Masters in Business Administration from the American InterContinental University. I took Marketing as part of my coursework. I currently market my own piano teaching business. I have helped others market their businesses as well.
I have been using various computer programs since I was a boy. However, I had to use MS Publisher in my church, school, and home for the past 8 years. I have used it to to create flyers, newsletters, business cards, etc. I also used it while receiving my Masters in Business Administration degree from the American InterContinental University.
I have been using MS Windows for about 10 years. I also became very familiar with it doing my graduate work when I received my MBA from American InterContinental University. I also use it on a daily basis as part of my job as a educator with the Broward School System. I also have use it in other positions as well.
I studied music history as part of my minor in music from the Florida State University. I also took course work in Music History from the Miami Dade College, where I receive an A.A. focused in music. I am currently certified by the State of Florida to teach music K-12. I also teach history at a local public school in Broward County.
I have played the piano since I was 4 years old. I have been teaching piano for over 15 year in the Miami-Dade and Broward County areas. I received an A.A. degree from Miami-Dade College focused in Music Education in 1996. I also minored in Music at the Florida State University when I received my B.S. degree. I am currently certified by the State of Florida to teach music K-12 and work in a Broward County public school teaching music. I have been teaching music in the public school system for about 8 years. I have taught children, teens and adults. I have been apart of many musical groups playing various styles including classical, pop, rock, and gospel.
I have had many speaking engagements at my local church for the past 5 years. I have also had to speak in front of class doing my graduate work and undergraduate work. As a musician, it is part of our training to learn how to handle nerves and organize thoughts. In addition to this, I have an MBA which gave me skills in public speaking.
