Bio

I'm a graduate student at the University of West Florida, with two BAs from Eastern Kentucky University; one is in history, and the second is in anthropology with an archaeology minor. I'm a fairly experienced archaeologist and historian, but my talents extend to most academic subjects outside of my specialty because I am a generalist at heart.

My primary goal is to help prepare students for success later in life by helping them with the subjects covered on the ACT. However, I am obviously not limited to this narrow scope; I am likely able to help with most subjects with which a student may be struggling.

I have a lifelong passion for the sciences combined with good communication skills means I can break complex subjects down into their easily understood components. I have nearly five years of experience in professional archaeology, history, and museum settings, and hundreds of hours in laboratory settings.

I received scores in the 90th percentile or above on the linguistic sections of the ACT and GRE tests. Over the course of my career, I've written thousands of pages worth of research, laboratory, and scientific documentation, as well as some short stories and novellas for fun. I'm also well-read in the classics, from the Iliad and the Odyssey to A Tale of Two Cities and beyond.

Although my specialties are aimed at anthropology, archaeology, history, and writing, students who need a little help and encouragement in any of the arts or sciences can count on me!

I earned a professional certificate in GIS from Eastern Kentucky University along with my two Bachelors degrees. This certificate is the equivalent of a minor in the subject. I have years of GIS and remote sensing experience, and actually enjoy using these powerful pieces of analytical software.

ACT Reading,

ACT Reading

Archaeology and the social sciences demand a lot of reading. Extracting information from difficult-to-follow treatises on obscure theoretical subjects is part of the day-to-day. I also grew up reading a ton, both for learning as well as for fun. As such, I am a good reading tutor.

I am an archaeologist with hundreds of laboratory hours. This includes a large number of physical and chemical processes that are used over the course of my job, as well as scientific record keeping. My passion for general science from a young age, combined with my on-the-job scientific experience, means that I am good with scientific subjects.
