Do you want to improve your English? Do you want to learn some French? My name is Danielle, and I would love to work with you! Regardless of your current skills or future plans, work with me to achieve your goals.
What I can offer you:
-tutoring sessions based on your skills
-a curriculum based on your goals
-motivation and feedback to fit your needs
I am certified in ESL, English/ELA, and French and have three years of teaching experience and six years of tutoring experience. I have lived in France and Germany and taught English and French to children and adults in both countries. I have also tutored Chinese, Korean, French Canadian and American students.
Are you a parent? Here's how I can help your child:
1. I will talk with you and your student to set clear goals for tutoring.
2. At the beginning of each lesson, I will outline exactly what we will do during the hour.
3. At the end of the lesson, I will give your student an appropriate task to complete before the next meeting.
4. I will provide friendly (but firm) help to your student, keeping him/her focused and on-task.
Feel free to read reviews of what past students think, and contact me if you have any questions!
I look forward to working with you.

Danielle is such a great tutor! She is extremely competent and talented. She knew exactly what to do to help me get better in English, and she succeeded. She gave me practical advice, and showed me useful tools, which I can still use to improve my English skills on a everyday basis. She is so patient and gives very clear explanations. Moreover, she's always prepared for a lesson and starts with a clear program, so you know what to expect in your session. Danielle is an amazing teacher, and I would recommend her to everyone.
I have to admit, I was a little anxious getting a tutor for my sometimes surly teenager from an online tutoring service, but, once again, the amazing internet comes through. Danielle is the perfect tutor for our daughter. She is reliable, patient, upbeat, very organized, direct, personable, yet, not a pushover. Danielle has been helping us for a few months now and has clearly made a difference in our child's grades and, more importantly, attitude. I highly recommend her particularly if you have a bright kid who needs a push but won't respond to you as a parent.
Danielle is a wonderful tutor (from what I saw within a short time due to personal reasons). Her class is organized and she has patients needed when working with kids. I would recommend her as a French tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I completed my Master's degree in Teaching Foreign Languages (Didactiques des langues étrangères) in French, in France. I spent three years in France.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English Education. I read extensively as part of my degree. I review a lot of lit analysis as part of my current job as a college writing tutor. Also, I am an avid reader and enjoy a variety of genres.
I have a background in acting, which taught me valuable vocal skills such as articulation, projection, and pacing. I took several public speaking classes in college, allowing me to practice organizing a presentation. Lastly, I have been a public school teacher for three years. This has sharpened my improvisation skills, as well as other important skills such as reading an audience.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English Education with a minor in ESL. I have used this degree to teach students K-12. I also have a Master's degree in Teaching Foreign Languages (all levels) and several years experience in teaching ESL to adults.
