My name is Ms. Sylvia T. and I am a certified teacher with the Escambia County School District. I hold a B.A. in Special Education, an M.Ed in Reading Education and an Ed.S in Educational Leadership. I have been teaching for 11 years, but I have been working with students for more than 20 years. Currently, I serve as an Inclusion Teacher for students with exceptionalities in grades 3-5 as well as students who are at-risk.My educational philosophy is simple! All children can learn given the opportunity and not the disability. Finally, I have had a complete criminal background check completed through the Escambia County School District. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been teaching for more than 10 years. I was just tired when I took the test. Also, I am certified in Elementary Education(K-6)through the State of Florida.
I hold a teaching certficate in the State of Florida which entiles me to teach English (5-9), Reading K-12, Special Education (K-12), Elementary (k-6) and Educational Leadership (All Levels).
I hold a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, a Masters Degree in Reading Education and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.
I have had extensive training in each of these areas which allows me to teach all K-6 courses, middle school grammar, and high school English (9th grade) as well as students with special needs at the K-12 levels and reading K-12 levels.
I currently work with a hard of hearing student. As part of my special education course work I had to take various courses pertaining to the hearing impaired, speech and language amplification and other assistive technologies uses to assist students with minimal or significant hearing loss.
I have a Masters Degree in Reading Education.
I have a degree in special education which has allowed me to work with students with exceptionalities; in addition, I am state certified.
I have taught many students how to prepare for the FCAT, ACT and other district tests. I have taught high school for more than five years.
