I love teaching and have taught for over 29 years in public schools, with two more years as a homeschool teacher. I have tutored part time throughout my teaching career. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's in Elementary Education, with a Language Arts emphasis. I am a trained Reading Recovery Teacher with 6 years experience in this specialty area. I have taught ALL elementary subjects, and I have a heart for those students who struggle the most.

My son has ADHD, and Specific Learning Difficulties. He is an adult now and doing very well. He had Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and a great deal of anger. He has learned to succeed by being thankful, dreaming big, and never giving up. Nick Vujicic is a man born with a severe physical disability and he is now a motivational speaker. His inspirational quote is: "Be Thankful. Dream Big. Never give up."

My daughter was Gifted and Talented in school, but still had areas of weakness. She is currently in college, with multiple academic scholarships, and she is studying Music Education.

I have personal experience, both as a mom and a professional educator, with both extremes in learners. I love working with students one-on-one. In this capacity, the educator can easily follow the learner, tailoring each lesson to an individual's needs.
