As a retired teacher with 33 years experience, I am the tutor for you if you need help in any elementary school subject, English at any level, including through college sophomore, or any high school or undergraduate psychology course. I have taught pre-K through college sophomore classes. I just love the educational process, and I could never stop learning myself. I have ten years experience at the elementary school level, nine and one half years experience with middle school, primarily English and reading, and five years experience teaching high school English. In addition to all that, I have concurrently accrued ten years as an adjunct college instructor in Freshman English, Psychology of Childhood and Youth, and Developmental Psychology. I am truly a "Jack of All Trades" kind of tutor.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was certified to teach elementary education in the State of Florida before my retirement from the public school system. I have taught Kindergarten through fifth grade for ten years. I taught Kindergarten for just a few weeks, first grade for three years, and second grade for three years.
Additionally, I have taught third grade one year, fourth grade two years, and a fourth/fifth multi-age class. My experience combined with my previous certification in elementary education makes me ideally suited to tutor any elementary subject.
I have a bachelors and a masters degree in English Education. I have taught English at many levels, including middle and high school English, language arts and literature. Also, I taught Freshman English I at the college level for seven years.
I have taught first grade for three years. Before that I taught second grade for three years. Both of those classrooms utilized a heavy phonics-based approach. Through the use of highly structured and systematic phonics rules, my students excelled in reading. Practice of those rules in a wide variety of ways was also an important hallmark of my phonics instruction. My students left my class with a love of reading and an incredible ability to decode and encode which made them very successful readers.
