I have been a teacher of Middle School Mathematics for more than 15 years. In this experience, I have taught everything from High School Level Geometry through Elementary Math. I am certified to teach Math from 3rd Grade through 12th Grade in two states. I have tutored college students, high school students, middle school students, and elementary students.
I love education and will continue to be involved with education my whole life. My goal is to see every student I work with be successful not only during the time that I am working with them but throughout their mathematical careers. To help achieve this goal, I do everything in my power to help them. I try to relate the math being covered to real life and make it much more enjoyable than it often seems to be.
My experience in education has put in some very unique places. I have traveled around to several conferences as both an attendant and as a presenter. I have done several summer trainings to continue to develop my overall understanding of math beyond just my teaching placement. I pride myself on understanding the math that my students come from, where we are and where they will go. Because of this, I have a vast knowledge of working with many types of learners and understanding of mathematical curriculum.
I am very excited to work with students of all ages and continue to help improve your overall understanding of the mathematical world. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
