Hi. I am a very caring and patient tutor/teacher with many years of experience working with children. I try to make our lessons fun and interesting! I find it so rewarding and exciting to be able to help kids do their best. It is amazing to me each time I see that my students' confidence level go up!! It is such a good feeling for a student to be able to go to school and do well in classwork and on the exams. I treat each student individually, and cater to their needs. Maybe, that is one of the reasons I have been having a such a good success rate with my students.
I have a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities and have been trained in the Orton Gillingham reading methodology. This is a multi sensory approach to learning to read. It has been around for many years and has a proven record. It is especially effective for those students who struggle with phonics, which is the basis of learning to read properly.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Master's Degree from New York University in Special Education/Learning Disabilities. I have been teaching and tutoring for many years. I am very well versed in teaching students with dyslexia/learning disabilities. I use a proven method for my students that are struggling to read. It is called the Orton Gillingham Multi Sensory Reading methodology. It utilizes the students' senses in learning to read. Also, it provides the student with various strategies when reading and writing. This program is approved by the International Dyslexia Association, and has been around for about 70 years. I have many success stories using this method, because it builds on a child's strength and improves their deficits. My students' enjoy this method, because it is fun and they can see results quick early on. It is a real confidence builder.
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education/Learning Disabilities and I have been teaching Phonics and Reading skills to children for many years. I am trained in the Orton Gillingham Multi-Sensory Reading method, which is a phonics based program. This method utilizes the individual sounds and builds upon these for the students to be able to read as well as write words and sentences after a couple of sessions. The basis for being able to read begins with phonics. I have been having much success using this method because it is multi- sensory. It builds on the students strengths while improving on their weaknesses. The students enjoy this program because it is fun, and it provides them with the "tools" necessary to become good readers and writers.

I have a Master's Degree in teaching children with Learning Disabilities. I have a lot of experience teaching reading and language arts skills. I generally have been following the Orton Gillingham reading method. This method emphasizes phonics, spelling, writing and reading. I have had a lot success with this program. When students learn the sounds and the rules, they become better spellers. I also teach my students how to study properly for classwork and exams.
