I have my Bachelors in Education and I have been teaching for over twenty years. I first started teaching in a daycare setting, where I taught my young scholars the ABC's, numbers, colors, months of the year, days of the week,etc.. I felt fulfilled when my students accomplished the tasks that I wanted them to learn. When my students left the daycare and went to Public School, they were writing and some of them were reading. My former parents came back and told me that the teachers were impressed.
I completed my education by pursuing a Masters degree in Literacy. I have spent the last three years developing my skills as a literacy teacher. I feel that I could help my students by providing lessons that will motivate their interest, thus helping them to excel.
As I mentioned earlier, I have my Masters in Literacy, and I believe that reading plays an important role in education. If a student does not comprehend what they are been taught, then they will never get it. Therefore, my strategy is to find their weakness and try to help them find strategies that will help them understand.
I will make time for my students and if they need more time to work on the topic, I will give them extra work that will help them.
