University of North Florida (Psychology)
I have already earned my Associate's Degree and I am currently in my junior year of college at the University of North Florida. I am pursuing a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology and I'm also working on a minor in Biology. I plan to continue on to medical school and I aspire to be a neuropsychologist. I have always had a passion for learning, making it fairly easy for me. I understand how other students struggle, though, and I really want to help them understand material in a way that makes sense to them so that they can excel in their academics.
While I do not have any formal tutoring experience, I have helped out friends in the past. Additionally, I used to work with my siblings when they had difficulties in school, specifically in their math classes. I found teaching to be very rewarding, and I'd love to offer my skills to younger students to help them better themselves and their grades.
I excelled in my math courses in high school and, contrary to popular opinion, I actually enjoyed them. I received a 5 on the Advanced Placement Calculus AB exam and a 700 on the math section of the SAT.
Ultimately, I am a highly motivated student. I took a total of 10 AP classes in high school, which allowed me to skip my freshman year of college and receive my AA Degree in only 2 semesters. While my passion is for math, I am a well-rounded, successful student in many other areas, so I encourage you to contact me to see how I can help you best! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
