New Jersey Institute of Technology (Mechanical Engineeri)
I am a registered Professional Engineer who has spent the last 35 plus years in engineering design and facilities management. During that time I have spent many hours learning about and teaching employees how to operate facilities safely and efficiently. What I have learned through those experiences is that being involved in small groups or individual learning sessions provides the best results.
I can help someone like you understand how operating facilities function and how those operations tie into mathematics, financial reports, operating efficiencies, statistical analyses, business decisions, etc.
I am proficient in math ranging from algebra and geometry to level I calculus and I can provide many real world examples as to how math relates to everyday life.
My preferred teaching style is interactive vs. lecture style. It is important that the student becomes engaged in the subject matter vs. the tutor spouting out information a la a large lecture hall. Personalization is the key. All learning styles are different. Once we establish how an individual student learns, success in the subject will not be far away.
I look forward to the opportunity to talk to you about your needs and hope that we can find a fit.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
