Ringling college of art and design (Filmmaking)
I haven't had any experience teaching so far, but ever since I was in elementary school I've been making films and with that I've accumulated an extensive knowledge on how to use everything from Microsoft Word to Photoshop. I've taken a number of classes on graphic design, filmmaking, art, and many computer programs. I am currently going to college to study filmmaking, (I'm actually working on a web-series for the actor Dylan McDermott over the summer).
I'm excited to see how my career develops as I continue to learn more and more. So much of my area of study is exciting and fun to me that I really want to pass my knowledge on and inspire others to follow in the steps of creativity and being willing to pursue something they love for a living.
I've taken multiple classes on Photoshop, Illustrator, Video Production, Filmmaking, and Microsoft programs. I went to a very technology-centric school (Clark Advanced Learning Center) that provided me with many resources to learn these skills. I also have countless hours of personal time experimenting with these computer aspects.
I go to a school called Ringling College of Art and Design and have taken classes based on traditional art such as drawing and 3D-Design as well as filmmaking specific classes like Cinematic Storytelling and History of Film for example. I even took multiple graphic design based classes every semester in high school. I have these ideas and principles ingrained strongly in head from years of exposure.
I really just want to help others. I'm very patient and understanding. I want to start teaching people and help lead them on tracks to do something they really feel passionate about. I think that is really important for a fulfilled life and learning new things is always a good thing no matter how scary it may seem at first. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently going into my second year of college studying filmmaking. I have been taught in the history of film starting all the way back to Edison and the Lumiere brothers to modern day cinema. I understand framing, composition, lighting setups such as high key, low key or high contrast. I have been on the crew for 30 different professional student films in the past year I can provide call sheets for. Currently I am a g&e swing/boom operator for a web-series that was created & partially directed by Dylan McDermott. I have worked in every department on a film set so I know much of the technical aspects of filmmaking. My particular area of interest is writing and cinematography so I have made it essential to know as much as I can about cameras and their specifics (e.g. exposure, ISO, aperture, focal lengths, etc.).
