About Diane

I have taught young adults in most social sciences and also medical training of medical office assistants. My teaching style comes through with discussions of topics in the young adults study. We look at the dynamic and through discussion, the student begins to understand factors that yield understanding of the subject matter. I may use several resources to include visuals, maps or other statistics which allow the student to see how these dynamics can influence the outcome. Understanding comes when the student can see these dynamics. I find that learning occurs when the student knows how all the factors work. For example, when teaching anatomy of the body, the student must first understand what that particular system does, what is its importance. So, in understanding importance, we can then learn to understand function. When tutoring a particular subject, for understanding, you must break down the subject matter into smaller components. Understanding each component then allows for clarity of the whole. I have taught young adults in most social sciences and also medical training of medical office assistants. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anthropology

I have a BA in anthropology. Archaeology was also part of the degree that I earned at Brooklyn College in New York. I have also taught undergrads this course.
