My twenty years of teaching diverse learners has provided me the opportunity to fine-tune my teaching methods. I use a spiral teaching style to maximize student performance. What this means to you is that I utilize the knowledge you know to teach you the skills that you don't, yet. For example, you may know how to multiply, you may know how to combine like terms, and you may know how to simplify. I will use your knowledge to demonstrate and teach you how to multiply algebraic expressions and show your result in simplest form.
Math is a building curriculum. I will teach you to problem solve real world equations utilizing your higher level thinking skills while you build confidence in your ability to succeed. Visually speaking, take a set of 15 building blocks and stack them. Draw it out. Go ahead. You have created a sound structure five stories high. What would happen if you did not have the first and second blocks on the third level? Correct, your structure would not be solid. As I tutor you, I will be sure your foundational knowledge is completely solid as you learn new knowledge. We will create bridges, pathways, and tunnels all with the same core foundation you just drew.
In my years of teaching mathematics, my state assessment results ranged from 68% improvements to 82% improvements. With knowledge and confidence, you will achieve success. Let me be the tutor that assists you on your journey.
In summary, I will provide you with knowledge and confidence from a spiral academic approach to experience continued success with the core values of mathematics: integrate problem solving techniques; equip you for future learning; all to prepare you for real world applications. Now that you have completed your first lesson with me successfully, I look forward to hearing from you to schedule our next lesson. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
