Nova Southeastern University (Communication)
I am a recent graduate from Nova Southeastern University. While attending Nova, I was an America Reads tutor. The America Reads/ America Counts program is aimed to aid elementary schools boost the levels of students in reading and mathematics. Through this program I gained the skills to help students not only read at a better level, but also broaden their understanding of other subject areas. The reward of having students excel is what made this job satisfactory and my interest in tutoring even stronger.
I specialize in Reading and Mathematics as well as other subjects for grade levels K-8. I also have experience with college counseling, Microsoft products as well as student success at a secondary or post-secondary institution. I make sure that I figure out a student’s needs within the first couple of sessions. With the data collected through practice problems and activities, I create a plan of target areas that the student needs work on and supplement it with activities and other strategies for success. I provide a progress report to show gradual change and ultimate conquering of a subject or concept.
In order that I may provide the best service and be effective as possible, I often ask for feedback. I try to be flexible with time, even though I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I do offer makeup classes. In addition, to ensure that students have a quiet comfortable study space I strongly urge that I meet with students in either a library or a nearby coffee shop. At home tutoring is an open option as well.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve academic or personal success.

We are so pleased to have found Kristina. She works so well with our daughter, she is very patient, and is so flexible to our needs. My daughter really enjoys her method of teaching, which makes me so happy!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was employed by the America Reads/ America Counts program for four years as a tutor and a supervisor. I tutored kids in math, reading and social studies. I also worked on the weekend tutoring students in FCAT reading and math.
I have utilized Outlook in the workplaces I have been employed, for my own personal correspondence, and to submit school assignments.
