About Adam

For three years of my undergraduate studies at Boston University, I tutored English-speaking students in both written Modern Standard Arabic and a variety of colloquial dialects. I am a native speaker of both English and the Egyptian dialect of Arabic. I'm easy-going, very flexible, and an excellent communicator.

For the past two years, I have worked as an Arabic language analyst at a start-up consulting firm in Washington, DC, and will soon be working for a large defense contractor as a linguist.

I am a bilingual heritage speaker of Egyptian Arabic, and completed Boston University's entire undergraduate Arabic program in less than three years. Since graduating in 2014, I've worked as an Arabic language analyst for a small consulting firm in Washington, DC, and was recruited by a leading defense contract to work as an Arabic linguist.

I'm a very recent transplant in the greater Orlando area, and an ready to help Arabic speakers of all levels become more proficient and confident speaking, reading, and writing the language. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Arabic

I am a heritage speaker of Egyptian Arabic, and have both lived and studied in the Middle East through Boston University and the American University in Cairo. For three years at Boston University, I tutored my fellow Arabic students and members of the Boston University ROTC through a program called Project Global Officers. I have since worked as an Arabic language analyst at The Camstoll Group, a small consulting firm in Washington, DC focusing on counter-terrorism and illicit finance. I was recently accepted to a position as an Arabic linguist at a major government contracting firm, pending a successful background investigation.
