I received my degree from Kean University in Union, NJ. I have learned through my years of teaching and working with teachers that keeping students engaged and keeping the learning fun is key. A lot of times it is important to take a step back and think about what it is that is causing a student to struggle. When you can understand how a child thinks you can begin to understand how you can change your approach and meet their needs.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
