About Anton

I am a software engineer by profession. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from University of Wollongong New South Wales, Australia. I received an Australian government sponsored scholarship to study Computer Engineering in Australia based on my high school performance. I migrated to United States with my wife in 2004 and have lived in Orlando FL since then. We have being raising three gifted children (14, 11 and 8 years old) who have excelled in all subject areas. I love to spend my spare time with my kids guiding them to success in mathematics and science. I am able to spend a portion of my free time for other kids as well. Each kid has different way of grasping mathematical concepts. Even my children are no exception. I was able to identify those differences and choose the most successful way to make them understand mathematical concepts. I will identify strengths and weaknesses of each individual student and
build a solid foundation to excel in mathematics.

Algebra and Trigonometry are my most favorite subject areas from my time in high school. Mastering these subjects will lay a solid foundation for the rest of your academic life.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

As an Engineering graduate I have lived with this subject area in most of my life time. I have used algebra in high school in Sri Lanka and I have an "A" grade for Applied Mathematics and a "B" for Pure Mathematics in GCE advanced level examination in Sri Lanka. I instructed my middle school son to do his Algebra 1. He in fact passed it in 7th grade.

Algebra 2

As an engineering graduate I have lived with this subject area in most of my life time. I have used Algebra in high school in Sri Lanka and I have an "A" grade for Applied Mathematics and a "B" for Pure Mathematics in GCE advanced level examination in Sri Lanka.

C#

I have been programming using C# language for the past 10 years of my career as a software engineer.

Elementary Math

I have helped my two sons ( one in 8th grade and one in 4th grade) with elementary math and they have achieved straight "A" s in all subject areas so far. I think I played a role in their success in addition to the school teachers. It will be a rare opportunity for your child to get math instructions from a qualified computer engineer. I will be more than happy to spend little of my time to help your child to succeed.

Prealgebra

I have helped my two sons ( one in 8th grade and one in 4th grade) with Prealgebra and they have achieved straight "A" s in all subject areas so far. Precalculus

I have learned Precalculus as a secondary school student and the concepts learned were very useful even in second and third year of my university courses. Along with Trigonometry and Algebra Precalculus lays the necessary foundation for the advanced mathematics.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is one of my favorite subjects in high school. My middle school age son started this subject area this year and he is fascinated with the concepts. It is fun to teach Trigonometry using real-life examples and shapes.
