About Jaime

I graduated from Hartwick College in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. At the same time, I also earned another, separate Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the same college. While in college, I was asked to tutor my classmates in a variety of subjects including, but not limited to, Statistics, Genetics, Spanish, and Chemistry. I also worked as a Supplemental Instructor for the Chemistry Department for three years.

After college, I began working in a bacteriology lab in Albany, NY. After about a year and a half there, my lab merged with the University of Florida and we all moved to Orlando. I continued to work in this lab until 2015, when I switched to the virology lab - still with the University of Florida. In both labs, my work has primarily focused on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic experiments and assays.

I decided to continue my education after arriving to Orlando. I applied and was accepted to a Master's program at the University of Florida. In December 2013, I earned my Master's in Pharmacy with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

I hold myself to high standards and have always put my best efforts forward. I believe in the power of positive thinking and that we all have the choice to either break down or to break through when faced with a challenge. I have spent over 200 hours tutoring for WyzAnt and love connecting with new students. Let me help you realize your full potential today!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biology

In high school, I earned a 4 out of 5 on the A.P. Biology exam. I also took the SAT Subject Test in Biology and received a score of 720 out of 800.

In 2010, I received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Hartwick College. I graduated with honors and was named a Faculty Scholar in the Biology Department. I am also a member of the Biology National Honor Society, Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta).

I can also help students prepare for the A.P. Biology exam. I have old versions of the exam that are a great resource for practice and review.

Chemistry

During my studies as an undergraduate, I was hired by the Chemistry department as a Supplemental Instructor. My duties included holding office hours to help students with their homework and to aid in reviewing for quizzes and exams.

In 2010, I graduated from Hartwick College with a minor in Chemistry. I then spent 9 months working as an Analytical Chemist.

In 2013, I graduated from the University of Florida and earned a Master's degree in Pharmacy with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

Cooking

For two years I worked as a consultant for The Pampered Chef. I attended monthly meetings with my team where we would prepare new recipes and discuss ways to make preparing food more efficient. I also hosted cooking parties and cooking shows where I would demonstrate to a small group how to prepare a variety of meals, drinks, and desserts.

I would like to make it clear that I am not a professional chef, but have found cooking to be a fun hobby that I would like to share with others.

I would also like to say that I am no longer with The Pampered Chef and will not be using WyzAnt as a means of promoting any other business for personal gain.

Elementary Science

I am confident that I can take the concepts I've learned and make them fun and understandable for children.

I began working for a microbiology lab in Albany, NY in February 2011, which has since moved to Orlando, FL. I spent 4.5 years working with a variety of microorganisms, most of which were bacteria. I recently began working in a virology lab where I have continued my microbiology work.

Excellent job

Jaime did a great job in helping my daughter get comfortable with chemistry concepts for an upcoming test and even prepared a detailed study guide. She's a great and knowledgeable tutor.
