About Linda

I am a part-time college level instructor with over seventeen years of experience teaching at the undergraduate level. I have taught both online and in the classroom, and am well familiar with the most common mistakes and blocks that students encounter in learning mathematics. I am kind, understanding and patient. I will motivate, inspire and push you to succeed, so if you are ready to learn, please give me a call.

I teach all levels of high school and undergraduate Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Probability, Logic and Geometry. When you contact me please provide the list of objectives for your course and the textbook name and author. Please also provide the specific assignments you are now working on, or indicate the type of problems you are concerned about. Concerning a current assignment, please note that I will not do the problems for you but I will show you how to work them. Tutoring time will consist of explanations, short attempts at the student performing the work, review and repetition.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida. I have taught classes in Prealgebra, Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra at the college level and in remedial college courses. I have also tutored high school and middle school students in this subject.

Algebra 2

I have a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida. I have taught classes in Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra (which are equivalent to high school level Algebra I and II). I also have several years tutoring high school and middle school students in Algebra. Schools at which I have taught include Hillsborough Community College, Argosy University, Kaplan, Colorado Technical University and DeVry University.

Elementary Math

I have been teaching the subject of mathematics for almost two decades. I hold a Master's degree in Mathematics and have over seventeen years teaching experience professionally at the college level. In addition, I have tutored elementary and middle school students as well as older remedial students in the topics of general elementary math.

Geometry

I have been teaching the subject of mathematics for over seventeen years. I hold a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida, and I have taught geometry at the college level. I have also tutored in geometry from the middle school level on up.

Logic

I have a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida. I have taught multi-subject courses that include logic (such as Topics in Mathematics) at Hillsborough Community College, where I taught from 2002 to 2015. I have also taught formal logic as part of a Critical Thinking course for Colorado Technical University, where I currently teach online.

Prealgebra

I taught Prealgebra at the College level at Hillsborough Community College (both Brandon and Plant City campuses) for several years. I have also tutored Middle School and High School level Algebra as well as developmental math. I hold a Master's degree in Mathematics and have taught for over seventeen years.

Precalculus

I hold a Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida and I have been teaching and tutoring for over seventeen years. I have taught college level Precalculus courses and tutored both at the high school and college level.

Probability

I have a Masters degree in Mathematics and I have been teaching Mathematics for over 18 years. During that time I have taught classes which included probability such as Statistics and Topics in Mathematics. I have also tutored students in various levels of probability.

Statistics

I have an M.A. in Mathematics and I have been teaching for over 18 years. I have specifically taught undergraduate Statistics for Argosy University and Colorado Technical University. I have also tutored Statistics I for the last several years.

Trigonometry

I have almost two decades of experience teaching mathematics at the college level. I have taught Precalculus for DeVry University, Hillsborough Community College and ITT. I have also tutored Trigonometry for several years.

After being stuck on problems for weeks I was able to complete my tasks within the first session.
