About Majdi

My name is Majdi, I'm 37 years old and a father of an amazing 7th grader. I have a Dual Degree in both Mathematics and Physics (Associate of Science degree) from the University of Sciences of Tunis. Currently, I'm a math lab instructor at a local college where I enjoy working with a very diverse group of students of all ages and levels.

As a Math tutor I strive to help students set their goals and work towards achieving them. I am committed to pass on my love for math and learning to all of them.

My teaching style I use is completely dependent on the particular student being taught. I'm a big fan of the adage "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day , teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life." My objective is to enhance my students learning style and help them become independent learners.

My subjects are Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus , Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equation, linear Algebra and Statics. I'm willing to travel up to 25 miles to meet with a student.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have a dual degree in math and physics from the University Of Sciences Of Tunis. I understand that Algebra 1 can be challenging, but with my direction and help, you will grow to enjoy it and find it much easy and let's not forget that Algebra 1 is the core of all math classes.

Algebra 2

I have a dual degree in math and physics from the University Of Sciences of Tunis. I have tutored Algebra 2 for many years both college and high school students and have had a lots of success.

Calculus

Calculus by far is my favorite subject to tutor. This is were Physics and Math come to play together.
From basic algebra concept of slope we move to rate of change and derivatives to finally antiderivatives.
All Calculus classes are about the same dual concept derivatives and antiderivatives.
Calc 1 and 2 are used in 2 dimension space were you have a single variable. Calc 3 in contrast involves a three dimension space with two variables or more.

Differential Equations

In addition to my Dual degree in Math and Physics from the University of Sciences Of Tunis, I have tutored Differential Equations at Valencia college for a while. For Differential Equation I mainly use Schuam's outline text book in addition to reviewing basic integration skills and Algebra. For laplace transform, I have adapted a study plan that covers most of the possible problems that students usually encounter.

French

French is my second language and I speak it fluently. I have taking French throughout all my academic career. If you need help with learning French you have come to the right person.

Geometry

Geometry is a beautiful subject where critical thinking starts to develop. I have a degree in Math and many hours of tutoring Geometry privately and on Campus. If you seeking help with this subject you have found the right person.

Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra is one of my favorite math subjects, the key to understand Linear Algebra is to acknowledge that the main idea behind the subject matter is not matrices, its rather a linear combination of vectors in a given space. Matrix would just be the tool that is used the most.
I have a degree in mathematics and I'm certainly qualified to tutor this subject as I had a good share of success tutoring several UCF students the subject matter.

Prealgebra

Math is a language and Prealgebra would be the basis of this language. With my experience and qualifications, including a degree in both Math and Physics, you can be sure that you will get a strong foundation and a deep understanding of Prealgebra.

Precalculus

Precalc is a prep class for Calculus and thats why its important to get it right. It is very similar to Algebra 2 except that it includes a conic section and an introduction to limits and continuity.

Probability

I have a dual degree in both math and physics and tons of hours tutoring Probability privately and at the math center at Valencia college.

Trigonometry

I have tutored trigonometry at Valencia college for over 5 years and had the opportunity to work with many students privately. As part of my degree in mathematics I have had work extensively with trig not only with math but also with physics.

Knowledgable tutor with excellent teaching skills

We have been reviewing my weekly material and recovering topics that weren't made clear in class. Majdi is an excellent tutor and has a way of explaining everything in a way that makes it easy to learn and understand the problems and concepts that are being taught. Looking forward to our next session in two weeks.
