I am recognized as one of the Top 100 tutors here on Wyzant! My tutoring business is all about showing the step-by-step process for solving any kind of mathematics problems. I am going to keep it simple. I have 10+ years of experience tutoring K-12 grade and university level students. I noticed over time that many teachers and professors do not show all necessary steps in math problems. I also noticed that a lot of teachers and professors do not have the patience to show all of the steps. Why is that? As the saying goes: "You should know this already". The quoted statement adds to students frustration with mathematics. The quoted statement cannot be said because no one can assume mathematics is retained from student to student. I observed within my experience that mathematics is not many people's forte. One reason for mathematics not being a person's forte' is the frustration from lack of understanding. My job is to make sure students understand

I possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Engineering, a completed Master's Degree in Information Systems & Technology from the University of Phoenix and is pursuing a Doctoral degree. I know how students feel when a professor does not show all of the steps that is why I made it my motive to show all steps necessary to explain why an answer is wrong and correct. I will make your tutoring experience worth the while!

Computer Science

Within pursuing my bachelors degree in mathematics, I had the liberty of taking various computer science courses. Within my degree of mathematics, computer programming was involved in my numerical analysis class heavily. Also, in my senior level Abstract Algebra courses, they have many computer science applications with Cryptography being one of the biggest applications. In the midst of that, learning the language of Java was definitely a journey of mine. Also, I am currently pursuing a Masters in Information Systems & Technology where I am using my mathematics intuition to apply towards computer science classes like Systems Analysis and Design, Information Technology Infrastructure and Programming Concepts. In the midst of my Masters, so far I have learned how to program in HTML and SQL Server.

Time Was Fantastic!

Tim helped my son with some challenges he is having in Algebra 1. From what I could hear, he was patient, thorough, knowledgeable, and relatable. I know my son enjoyed him, and I will book him again. On my end, I will have my son more ready with questions for his next session. I give Tim my highest rating!

Great teacher/tutor and very patient

Tim is great! He helped me break down complex combinatorics /finite math problems by showing me all the algebraic steps that I had forgotten/rusty on. As well as the important steps/explanations that get skipped over in higher college math due to the assumption of the base knowledge.

Simmi, 2 lessons with Tim

Skilled and Patient Math Tutor

I need to clear up some issues and Tim was very patient in going over problems. He understood how my teacher will want the problem solved and how to show the work. He worked well well the online tutorial software and was available late at night (the only time I have available to review math problems).

Great Algebra II tutor

Extremely knowledge and well-versed in all aspects of the subject matter. Mr. Tim's patience, calming demeanor, and supportive nature makes him a highly effective tutor. My son is now consistently earning the highest grades in Algebra II he has ever received. He is on track to finish the year with an "A" in the class.
