ISTH ( Haiti) (civil engineering)
Hello! I am a retired civil engineer gone math tutor. I work for OCPS, so I have daily experience with children and can tell what teaching style goes with what child. Coming from a education filled background, I have acquired patience with all students and don't mind working with them until they have an absolute clear understanding of it. I have a teenage daughter myself, so I not only know how school works from the view point of an employee, but also from the standpoint of a student. I have been teaching at Evans High School for five years now and I can't imagine not being able to help students learn.
I truly enjoy my job with students and make sure I diligently strive to make sure they understand what is being taught to them. I have experience with tutoring, my first job for OCPS was tutoring high school kids. My approach to teaching is to get to know the student first and find out what is best for them. Once I understand their way of learning, we make a plan on how to get them to master what they need help in. I am confident that we will achieve your greatest potential. I love helping people reach their full potential, because I genuinely believe that everyone can unlock their total intelligence. I'm excited that with the help of this website I'll have new students I can help teach. It may just take the right person to tech them and I think I might be the right person to help you. Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
