About Edward

Tutoring is a great way to make learning fun and easy. It's also very useful for a great way to be challenged. However, a tutor does not teach. My goal is to provide you with the tools for YOU to connect the dots.

I've been tutoring for almost 5 years. Largely, I've focused on Anatomy and Physiology. I started at Daytona State College teaching Supplemental Instruction for several teachers that taught the prerequisites for the nursing program. I then moved to University of Central Florida where I was tutoring mostly for the Athletic program. Throughout all of that time, I have taken several levels of anatomy and even acquired my license in a massage therapy. My approach is tailored to the student's prior knowledge of the material and strengths in learning styles.

For all of the subjects I tutor, I always emphasize knowing the big picture of the material before going into the smaller details. I find certain books and flash card sets very useful that help drill the important information. I also like to build comprehensive charts and create/use online tutorials for review.

Other subjects I have focused on are Spanish levels 1-4, biology, neurobiology, and immunology.
Don't wait! If you are looking for other ways to study than to just hitting the textbook and boring online material, try help from an experienced tutor who can make the learning process engaging and facilitate excitement for the new material!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anatomy

I've taken human anatomy at university level for pre-medical students.

My foundation in science is very strong through exposure to the material from years of tutoring it and also taking more advanced biology classes as University of Central Florida (toward my Biomedical Sciences degree).

I've tutored it for almost 5 years. Two of those years were doing supplemental instruction for pre-nursing program and the remaining has been independent tutoring and also tutoring for a athletic program at UCF.

In addition to this, I am also a licensed massage therapist and went through extensive training for the musculosceletal system as well as all other systems.

Biology

As with anatomy and physiology, Biology is a fundamental course that must be understood. My foundation in Biology is very strong through exposure to the material from years of tutoring it and also taking more advanced biology classes as University of Central Florida (toward my Biomedical Sciences degree).

Physiology

I've taken human physiology at university level for pre-medical students.

I've tutored it for almost 5 years. Two of those years were doing supplemental instruction for pre-nursing program and the remaining has been independent tutoring and also tutoring for a athletic program at UCF.

Spanish

Aside from living in Florida and constantly having exposure to the Spanish language, it was my minor at UCF. The classes were all taught in Spanish. I have learned advanced grammar and have taken Spanish composition classes. I am able qualified to help somebody with their general Spanish classes levels 1-4.
