Originally from Costa Rica, I have always had a passion for sharing my culture and language with others. I often add a cultural context to the lessons to help my students better understand how the language is used and under what circumstances. This approach tends to make the lessons more interesting, real and easier to remember.
The first step I take when working with a new student is to clearly understand what their goals and interests are for the Spanish lessons. Setting reasonable and mutually agreeable expectations, as well as the responsibilities for both the student and the tutor is key to a successful learning experience for everyone.
