Augsburg College (Sociology, Religion)
Hey there! My name is Elizabeth and one year ago I moved to Central Florida after graduating from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Religion. My areas of study have greatly influenced my love and admiration for education being such a significant institution in today's society while also allowing me to understand how different we all are in many ways. I personally believe each and every one of us has exponential capabilities in learning when we are do so to best fit our individual learning styles and needs. I encourage learning in any way and this encouragement is confidentially supported by my relentless determination to open the doors of our individual learning success.
Along with my Bachelor's degree, I have ample experience volunteering with learning programs and children of all ages. I also taught pre school and have tutored elementary aged children with reading, writing/handwriting and language skills. These previous experiences do not limit my tutoring qualifications. In my every interaction with students and families, I provide a professional friendly relationship along with constant support, patience and dedication to learning for every student.
Vocabulary and writing are two passions of mine from my elementary education. Words by themselves and how we form our words to create phrases, sentences and stories hold immense power in communicating with our closest friends and family to society as a whole. Taking the time to understand and practice writing and vocabulary is a effective communication quality that will last a lifetime.
I am able to apply various learning approaches to better understand Social Studies/ Religion/ Criminal Justice by utilizing the skills and knowledge I have acquired in my studies of society and religious context. These approaches vary and revolve around the area of interest specific to each student as a 'starting point' for further studying.
Let's (Let US) figure it out! :). I am only here to help you!
Everyone and everything cannot be touched on in what little time classes give students during the school day. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
