About Elizabeth

I am a certified teacher and Educational administrator. I hold a Bachelors in Elementary Education, and a Masters and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I have taught both elementary and middle school grades and have enjoyed my time in the classroom. I have two daughters, one going into middle school and one going into high school and enjoy my time with them so much.

With that said, I am not teaching at the present time but love tutoring as it gives me the chance to work with students one on one and guide and direct them in areas they may be struggling. Learning is fun and with the right tools and techniques, everyone can be successful. I hope you will contact me for any tutoring needs you may have. The journey can sometimes be difficult, but the reward is so worth it.

I have many years of experience teaching elementary ins middle school math. I have been trained in many different types of curriculum.

I love reading and writing and am confident that once you learn the correct format for writing and practice your writing, your reading will improve.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught for over 14 years. I have experience in both elementary and in middle school. I have a Bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education and a Masters and Specialists degree in Educational Leadership. I am well versed in reading, writing, math, science and Social Studies and love working with students.

Elementary Math

I have experience with writing; math; English; reading; and science. I am a certified teacher and Educational administrator. I hold a Bachelors in Elementary Education, and a Master's and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I have taught both elementary and middle school grades and have enjoyed my time in the classroom.

Handwriting

I have spent most of my years teaching Kindergarten as well as fourth grade. Much of Kindergarten is focused on learning how to form letters and how to write neatly. I use a variety of activities to enhance handwriting. As for cursive, teaching fourth grade allowed me to teach cursive handwriting which is also important. I have three children of my own that I have worked with on handwriting and my handwriting is excellent

Phonics

I have spent the majority of my time teaching phonics in Kindergarten and have lots of experience in teaching letters and sound and blends. I do this through reading books, focusing on each individual sound and on the letters that create blends or sounds that do not always follow the rule. I am well versed in phonics.

Study Skills

Time management is a big part of study skills. Taking notes, using note cards, highlighting information are just some of the tools needed to be successful when studying. Setting a schedule as to when everything is due, including tests is also very important. Learning how to take good notes is imperative. I would say study skills is high on my list of being successful in school.
