My name is Luz and my passion is computers and Information Technology. For me, it is very satisfying to be able to teach other persons that are willing to learn computers, and I enjoy a lot training people face-to-face.
I can teach people of all ages, including seniors that want to learn computers, from basic, to intermediate and advanced levels.
For students with basic level, my computer skills include: Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10), MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); using the Internet to search any information, use E-mail, Skype, Social Media/Facebook. I can teach you how to use all of the tools that are built into Windows, how to change configuration settings to personalize a computer, and anything else that the student wants to learn.
For more advanced students, I can also train in Hardware and Software issues; Technical skills to improve performance of computers and to fix them; How to fix a virus, spyware and malware in general; Networking setup and troubleshooting (wired and wireless); Improving speed of computers using different tools (Defragmentation, Disk Cleanup); and Cloud Computing (OneDrive, Dropbox), within others.
I graduated in December, 2011 of Networking Services Technology with an A.S. from Broward College. During the time that I was studying, I also worked in the campus as a work-study employee in the Computer Lab of the Computer & Engineering Department, tutoring students of Computer Literacy mostly in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint (2007, 2010) and others.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked in the Computer Lab of Broward College, Davie Campus for more than two years tutoring students of Computer Literacy.
I feel more than confident to offer an excellent service in basic computer skills. Spanish is also my first language.
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that is used for several tasks, including creating and formatting a workbook, working with formulas and functions, and creating charts and graphics.
It also has higher level features, that include working with Excel tables, managing multiple worksheets and workbooks; using advanced functions and filtering;working with Excel's financial tools; importing data.
I can teach you how to use PowerPoint to do a very professional Presentation. It includes within others:
-How to insert pictures, tables, Charts,Clip Arts, etc in a slide
- How to add animation to show visual effects
-How to add sound/Movie to a Presentation
-How to print several slides in the same page
I have worked with all the versions of Windows, including Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
Windows is the Operating System (OS) for the PC (as opposed to Macintosh). Each of the versions comes with specific tools, utilities, file structures and interfaces.
I am Microsoft Certified Application Specialist for Office Word 2007 since April, 2010.

It can be used for tasks such as editing a report. It is possible to create a basic text document or add advanced features such as advanced tables, graphics, and diagrams that illustrate a process.
