About Carla

I truly enjoy working with students of all ages. I have 6 children and 11 grandchildren! I have taught kindergarten through advanced math in high school, and have been a math adjunct at the college for 25 years! I can help you understand math better, and my goal is to help you enjoy doing it!

Wouldn't you like for math to be a comfort zone for you? Or at least, wouldn't it be wonderful if it was not a 'torture' zone anymore? If you have never liked math, I would like to change your mind! My students know that I not only want them to learn math, but I will do everything I can to help them enjoy learning and using math as much as possible.

I teach and tutor because I love to see students learn. I was not always a great math student myself. I failed 7th grade math...that's right! I fell victim to a teacher that did not love to teach, and I figured if he did not care whether I learned or not, then neither did I. I decided right then, If I ever taught, I would be a teacher that taught students to love what I was teaching...or at least that would be my goal! That moment when things 'click' for my student is the high point of my day!

So come make my day, as I try to help you learn to love math. Let's put math in your 'comfort zone'!

I love students, I love math, and I LOVE to help students LOVE MATH! I have taught math to all types of students, at all levels, from special needs students to Princeton scholars! I have taught in k-12 classrooms for a cumulative 15 years, and college classrooms spanning 25 years.

I would love to help math 'click' for you. Whether you struggle just to keep up with your classmates, or whether you are that faster student trying to really max out the SAT, or clep out of college algebra, I can help you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have taught SAT/ACT math for quite some time, and have led numerous weeklong SAT/ACT math classes!
