My joy for tutoring stems from my educational experiences with amazing teacher, professors and tutors. As a recent chemistry graduate, I understand that extra work and dedication does pay off. Over the past 5 years, I have tutored middle school, high school and college students in various subjects however I enjoy working with algebra the most.
One of the things I love most about tutoring is helping build the students confidence in their work. With maintaining grades, extra curricular activities and having a personal life, I know firsthand it can be difficult to find a balance. I strive to help you find balance and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Also, while working with you, I occasionally work out the problems you are working on simultaneously (in a separate notebook, of course) so we can compare step by step how you arrived at your answer.
I specialize in tutoring in math, specifically prealgebra, algebra 1 and algebra 2. I recently tutored a high school student in Algebra 2 and was able to not only help her raise her average two letter grades halfway through the semester, but she was able to gain more confidence in her decision making and in the execution of her work.
I try to be as flexible as I can, however I do have a 12- hour cancellation policy with the opportunity to make up the lesson.
To ensure that you are in the most comfortable environment, I prefer tutoring either at your home or in a library setting where I can work with you one-on-one in a quiet environment.
I look forward to hearing from you and I wish you nothing but success in your studies!!! My joy for tutoring stems from my educational experiences with amazing teacher, professors and tutors. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
