Hello! I received Master of Education in the Curriculum and Instruction program from Buffalo State College. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Exceptional Education, with a concentration in Social Studies. My certifications are for Elementary Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6).
I have a strong passion for teaching and want to push each student to his or her fullest potential, through creating an engaging, fun and positive learning environment. I have designed creative and stimulating lesson plans, accommodating multiple intelligences, bringing a hands-on approach to learning and keeping students interested and focused. Throughout my teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students. These range from students with mild to moderate disabilities, to students who performed at grade level. I have had the amazing experience of student teaching at Herbert Hoover Elementary School in Kenmore, NY, in a self-contained Special Education classroom. Through that experience, I was able to create lesson plans that adapted to each individual’s needs. The lesson plans provided hands-on experiences and kept the students interested and motivated.
My greatest strengths include my ability to motivate students to learn by creating a positive learning environment. I strive to engage each student’s mind through the use of hands-on learning experiences, manipulative and cooperative learning. My passion for teaching and my gift of patience allows me to be flexible when working with students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
