Hi, I'm George! I am a student at Dartmouth College, where I am studying mechanical engineering and economics. I graduated valedictorian of my high school class with a 4.0 GPA, and I currently have a 3.8 GPA at Dartmouth. I have tutored students for four years both at my school and across the country. This has included both in-person sessions as well as online ones. I've tutored students in various areas of mathematics, science, Spanish, and writing. When it comes to my approach to tutoring, I believe that it is easiest for a student to learn when they are learning material in a fun, interesting way, which is why I try to keep my sessions informative yet engaging! Additionally, I always ensure that the student has ample time to try example problems as those can be the best way to solidify new knowledge. I love being able to share my passion for certain academic interests with others as it can be extremely frustrating to enjoy learning when trying to grasp complex concepts. I am very flexible when it comes to the needs of the student as I can schedule a full lesson plan to teach a concept as well as just answering any specific questions the student may have. I am here to help!
I received a perfect score on both the SAT math section as well as the SAT Math II subject test. Additionally, I scored a 5 on both AP calculus exams and the statistics exam. In regards to mathematics tutoring, I have tutored students in algebra, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus for three years during my time in high school. This included meeting with students for regularly scheduled tutoring sessions as well as answering any brief questions that students may have had.
I have studied Spanish for seven years, including taking AP Spanish Language and Culture in high school. Furthermore, I scored a 5 on that exam, and have continued to keep my Spanish skills as I have moved on to college.
