About Jeanette

I am interested in tutoring because I have tutored friends, my own kids through high school and college, and enjoy teaching and working with individuals very much. I have a PhD in electrical engineering, so I am well qualified to teach all math subjects through the high school and college level, as well as physics, chemistry, several programming languages, and electrical engineering subjects. I have much patience in teaching and like to learn how the student perceives and thinks. This helps me design the best way to present material to the student, so that they will be able to comprehend and form analytical thinking patterns.

I have been working as a consultant and would enjoy the privilege of working with students and helping them achieve their goals. I like to help students gain a mastery of the subject as well as learn what it takes to master a subject. By this means they will develop a longing for life time learning and will develop the skills of comprehension, retention and practical application. These tools can be applied to all subject material with a conscientious and systematic approach to learning.

I teach math by teaching methods of solving problems along with critical thinking involved with setting up problems and various analytical approaches to solving problems. Setting up similar types of problems and helping the student grasp the similarities so that they can apply the techniques they've learned helps them master the subject and gain cumulative thinking skills in the area of mathematics they are studying.

Electrical engineering is an abstract art which uses much applied math. So the approach I use is graphical as well as teaching practical application of all the higher math that they have been learning. The fundamentals of math (Algebra, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations and vector linear algebra) are all used in some way in every branch of electrical engineering, so the mastery of applying the abstract math is what will make the student develop accurate electrical engineering skills.

I am here to help you tackle the hardest subjects that you are encountering and to make sure that you conquer them with a complete mastery outcome. This will aid you to be successful in all areas of your future career because not only will you learn to master certain math and science subjects, but you will learn an approach to thinking and learning that will help you master any area of study. I will train you to be a thinker who finds the answers, and who can solve the bigger problems in life, because you will have developed a keen math toolset and an engaged problem solving ability.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
