Over 40 years in all aspects of the healthcare industry experience brings a vast wealth of knowledge to students. There is not an area of patient care that has not been an area where I have not practiced or managed.
Mentoring has been the way that I have found to give back to my profession of nursing and healthcare. Many of these students now hold successful leadership roles in major teaching medical centers or are just beginning their professions and meeting their colleagues. They are eager to reach for the stars!
I also, have an extensive background in teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs in Universities across the country. Many of my students are still in touch with me even 20 years later. My evaluations were always stellar. My most recent mentee can tell you how I was only a phone call, text, or an email away when crises arose. Her instructor was perceived to be quite critical and she was close to graduation. I did some coaching and the next day was her best ever. I also have APA format expertise.
I have an in depth knowledge of healthcare law, licensure, accreditation, Medicare/Medicaid and healthcare improvement, as well as, implementation of best practices by the healthcare team. I have testified for the US Justice Department, and acted as an expert witness for the defense and the prosecution. Main areas of expertise include bad baby cases, standards of care and standards of practice.
Having my doctorate in Organization Development has exposed me to many new schools of thought and a professional diversity of colleagues. This has given me new insight into new methods of communication. My area of specialty has been enhancing intellectual capital - both individually, organizationally, regionally and nationally as part of a global whole. This is the basis for strategies both for an individual as well as international endeavors of large corporate entities. Over 40 years in all aspects of the healthcare industry experience brings a vast wealth of knowledge to students. I graduated nursing and I could not pass my NCLEX. Feeling discouraged and lost, I reached out to a teacher and asked for advice as to what I should do to be successful. My teacher suggested a tutor and so I began my research. I found WyzAnt.com and then found Ann through that. Our first email exchange she already put the confidence back in me. She had such a positive attitude and confidence that she could help me pass before she even met me. I went through with the tutor sessions for several weeks and as each week progressed I could feel my self gain more and more confidence as she guided me through questions and strategies so I could be successful! She was so nice, caring and smart! She gave me a lot of knowledge and was very flexible to meet and help with whatever needs. After several weeks I took my nclex exam and Passed! I can not thank Ann enough for everything she has given me! I could go on and on about her so I'll leave you with this, if you need anything for nursing school or Nclex... I HIGHLY recommend Ann! You will not be disappointed!!
Dr Ann seems to have a lot of experience in the field of nursing. Our first meeting was basically to get an idea of where I was with my studying and needs and what type of help she could provide going forward. Our actual "tutoring" session is next week - I am excited to see how that goes.
After having difficulty passing the NCLEX, I began meeting regularly with Ann. She immediately rebuilt my confidence and affirmed that I had the capability to pass the boards. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding all NCLEX areas; I quickly saw improved test scores while working with Ann. She is patient, flexible, and supportive.
Ann was great at slowing me down while thinking through NCLEX questions, and she expanded on concepts that I found tricky. She has plenty of study tips and resources to utilize. Ann gave fantastic advice regarding test-taking strategies, I felt so much better when I went to take the NCLEX a second time, and I did pass! I highly recommend Ann K to anyone looking to pass their nursing boards!
Many thanks for your positive review! Can't thank you enough.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

In 1978, I began as an In-House Career Counselor for the Illinois Nurses Association. Parents, as well as students, and second career adults called with questions regarding how to navigate the nursing education system. After working in a wide variety of clinical settings, I have in-depth knowledge of what requirements are necessary for various healthcare careers.
I tend to spend my time listening to potential healthcare students. Many individuals have not pinpointed what they really want and which career would be most satisfying.
I have mentored many healthcare students who have become quite successful: a hospital CEO, a Senior VP for Parient Services at a 4 hospital university teaching center, and a newly graduated nurse this year.
As you can see, I have been qualified for English. I have published in books in the US and India. I have also written articles, had monthly columns and am in the process of writing an article for a December deadline.
I finished my dissertation for my PhD this past year - it will soon be available in ProQuest.
I participated in the design of the NCLEX exams. The test is based on minimum safe competence ((by law). It is a multiple choice, best answer test of nursing knowledge. Having had 40+ years in the profession and practiced or managed all clinical areas, I can bring the expertise necessary for passage of the exam. Also, I have taught nursing in 4 university nursing programs.
I have over 40 years in the profession of nursing. There is not a clinical area that I have not worked in or managed. My degrees are a BSN and MS in Nursing Administration. I have taught Nursing in 4 major universities as adjunct faculty. Also, I'm a published author in both refereed and non-referreed nursing journals: Association of Perioperative Nursing, Nursing Management, Journal of Nursing Management, Journal of Nursing Economics. I have mentored and precepted undergraduate and graduate nursing students from numerous nursing programs and continue to do so.
I have taught at a number of universities since 1989(Aurora U., Concordia U.C., U of Iowa, U of Miami, National Louis U.) Public speaking was integral to my role at Illinois Hospital Assn., Illinois Organization of Nurse Executives and most especially at the Joint Commission. I was a member of the Speakers Bureau and the Department of Education programming. Public speaking was expected weekly as well as daily. Audiences varied from 25-3000. They were composed of national, as well as international attendees.
Most recently, I delivered papers in India, France and Portugal.
In the beginning I suffered from dreadful panic attacks and learned how to overcome them thru public speaking.
