About Aaron

Welcome, parents and students!

A good professional tutor is like a good professional coach or personal trainer.

Serious student who plan on success use tutors the same way pro-football players use coaches, or pro-swimmers use personal trainers. Getting help from a professional is a source of pride.

If you are looking for a professional tutor – in mathematics, science subjects, test preparation or general study skills, please, read on!

My name is Aaron Morris and I'm a down-to-earth, friendly engineering graduate who enjoys helping people accomplish there goals and build confidence as a professional tutor.

I know how to speak in plain language and more importantly I know how to listen. From experience I know how to get results, and I care deeply about the success of each one of my students. Students are quite comfortable with my tutoring style, and look forward to my tutoring sessions – as do I.

I help students in all situations:
Students in high school, middle and elementary school, magnet schools and home schools.
Highly capable students who want to get the best possible grades.
Students who are failing a class and need immediate crisis management.
Students who have problems with procrastination or focus.
Students who want to get ahead with early preparation.
Students who need to rebuild a basic foundation in math or science.
Students with poor motivation, study skills or self-confidence.
Students with bad teachers or disruptive classrooms.
Students who want to improve their scores on SAT, ACT or other standardized tests.

I have extensive experience with science and math tutoring, as well as test preparation and study skills. I tutor at all levels, including elementary and middle school.

I'm a native to Southwest Florida and attended high school here in Collier County at Barron Collier High School, Gulf Coast High School and Pine Ridge Middle School. I'm also an FGCU graduate of the FGCU College of Engineering Environmental Engineering program, GO EAGLES!

I have a college level education in Chemistry, Calculus, Physics, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry as well as having passed the AP Chemistry and Calculus exams with a 4.0s.

Having a bad semester? Please let me help you turn it around!

Want to be proactive? Summer tutoring provides a chance to get ahead (or rebuild a solid foundation) before the school year starts!

I believe that motivation is at least half of the battle for success in school. Both kids and adults are motivated when their teachers capture their imagination, provide frequent positive feedback, praise and a sense of accomplishment. Above all, I make learning fun and exciting! I am also big on practicing study skills, not just for one course or exam, but as a toolkit that students can carry with them for life.

Please let me know how I can serve you or your child.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1
I took algebra I as a 7th grader and can virtually solve problems in my sleep. I scored a 100% on the certification test and did all of the work in my head. Due to my vast experience with the subject I possess the ability to get inside the head of each student, view the material from the student's perspective and adjust my teaching accordingly utilizing a variety of teaching methods.

Algebra 2

Textbooks tend to have different definitions of Algebra 2, Trigonometry and Precalculus. Therefore, I have seen certain topics and concepts covered in Algebra 2 in one school, but in Precalculus in another. I have experience tutoring all three subjects and am familiar with the vast majority of topics and concepts that may be covered in any of the courses.

Chemistry

Chemistry: one word for such a large body of material! My knowledge of this subject ranges from middle school Earth and General Sciences through high school Chemistry, Chemistry Honors and AP to college level Introductory Chemistry and Lab work and all the way up to the more advanced subjects of Organic, Physical and Analytic Chemistry. This is my favorite subject to teach, if you have questions ask away!

Elementary (K-6th)

My experience with elementary school students has been as a Sunday School teacher at the Naples Community Church. This has helped me to better understand the mind of a child and to tailor my teaching strategies to meet their needs.

Over the years I have designed and used a wide variety of manipulatives to help elementary students understand abstract concepts, particularly in Math and Science. My main philosophy is that elementary education should be challenging but fun.

Precalculus

Textbooks tend to have different definitions of Algebra 2, Trigonometry and Precalculus. Therefore, I have seen certain topics and concepts covered in Algebra 2 in one school, but in Precalculus in another. I have experience tutoring all three subjects and am familiar with the vast majority of topics and concepts that may be covered in any of the courses. Furthermore, if I am not familiar with a specific strategy or concept I am usually able to understand the material after looking at a few examples and answers.
