Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a great deal of experience working with children in the K-6th grade range. I am aware of the state mandated proficiency levels for each grade's subject matter and help my student meet and most often exceed these basic requirements. I am a patient and positive instructor who excels in motivating students. I work equally well with students requiring remedial instruction as well as those who are seeking a more advanced and challenging mode of instruction. I guarantee positive results

ESL/ESOL

I am an ESL/ESOL Instructor with over 7+ years experience providing English language acquisition skills and overall cultural coaching to N. American immigrants and their children. I taught intermediate level English in a public school setting and am familiar with the various testing procedures and existing educational materials.

I switched to individual level instruction to better meet the unique instructional needs of my students. I specialize in the following areas: advanced grammar, vocabulary building, remedial listening and pronuciation training, phonetic instruction and citizenship preparation.

In my career, I have successfully served over 400 students from 20+ different countries.

Our 5 yr old granddaughter improved her confidence in ...
