About Roger

Bio

I have a Doctor of Philosophy in Modeling and Simulation, a Master of Science in Systems Management (MBA for technical organizations), and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. In addition to more than 11 years of tutoring experience, I am also a cognitive scientist, a human knowledge theoretician, published in scholarly journals, and have taught at the college level.

Adding to my knowledge, teaching experience, and fun-loving nature, we will have a unique resource to help us "work smart."...

In addition to more than 11 years of tutoring experience, I am also a cognitive scientist, a human knowledge theoretician, published in scholarly journals, and have taught at the college level.

Adding to my knowledge, teaching experience, and fun-loving nature, we will have a unique resource to help us "work smart." We will have the benefit of the world's first online, quantitative, instructional design and learning design decision support system which I have developed over many years of research. I was awarded a grant by the U.S. National Science Foundation to develop this potentially game-changing product.

My normal protocol consists of 4 steps: (1) find the holes in your foundational knowledge (i.e., finding a weakness is a win); (2) fill the holes; (3) learn test-taking strategies, and (4) learn learning strategies (I've catalogued more than 130). The result is: (1) you will learn the subject matter well - with great clarity; (2) you will test well; (3) you will become a great lifelong learner, and (4) you will have fun doing steps 1-3. You will become short-term smarter and long-term wiser - a better, more competent, more complex, more creative human being, ready to grow individually and make great contributions to society.

Bottom line: Results matter. I was ranked the #1 tutor from more than 700 WyzAnt tutors in the Central Florida area for two years in a row, have been ranked as high as #2 nationally, and have more than 800 five-star reviews. In 2019 one of my students became a Florida State Mathematics Champion.
