I have had a career as a corporate executive, non-profit association executive and, now, as a professional educator and reading tutor. I have taught 5th Grade students in a religious school setting for over 14 years, and I served as a summer reading tutor at a prestigious private school in Tallahassee during the summer of 2015. I also appeared on a well-known TV game show and won several games. I have a wide array of interests and instant recall.
I am very patient and devoted to helping kids learn, and I also make it fun. I have a very strong grasp of the English language and can tutor students on basic English language skills -- reading, writing, spelling, and grammar -- and I can also tutor in Spanish and Hebrew. I have a knack for working with kids.
I have a very strong grasp of Spanish, including four years of high school; four years in college; two years post-graduate Spanish plus attending college in Mexico for a summer. I have been a Hebrew language teacher for over 14 years; I know conversational Hebrew and have been to Israel on four separate occasions.
I have a very strong grasp of the English language and have been responsible for composing newsletters and magazines for a non-profit organization.
I am very patient and I never expect a student to get everything correct right away. There is never any such thing as a bad question. A child grows both physically and mentally. My job is to help with the mental growth and development, and have fun while we're doing it.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a teacher in a Reform synagogue for over 14 years, first in California and now in Tallahassee, Florida. A major part of our curriculum is teaching Hebrew to the students. I also have family in Israel and have been there four times. I have also taken conversational Hebrew lessons.
I also teach beginning Hebrew language courses for adults.
I have had professional public speaking training. I had a corporate career for 20 years, and as the CEO of a non- profit organization I made many public speaking experiences.
I know that speaking in public is one of the biggest fears many people have. I have also appeared on national TV and have trained people on public speaking tips.
